Within confusionist literature fragments are there because life is fragmentary. They are not there for any effect or stylistic artistic reason. They are not there as some taught technique. If modern life, or past or future life for that matter, or the part of it being represented by the confusionist author ceases to be or is not fragmentary, the confusionist piece of writing will cease to be, or never be fragmentary. This is the limitiation of vignettive writing.
